I know that ABA Therapy is a controversial topic for people. Just know that judging my decisions to my child, doesn't bother me. I would NEVER do anything to intentionally hurt or scar my child. I have left therapies because they felt abusive and I will always advocate for what I feel is right, especially when it comes to my baby.
When I was 15, I became very exhausted. It was horrible. I couldn't do anything. Sleeping didn't come easy which was crazy considering how tired I felt and getting up and doing something was just far too much for me.
Today has been a really lazy day. I have mostly worked on my paperwork for my new job and on Instagram growing my following there.
I don't know who I am anymore. I have lost myself since motherhood started. Those first years are really rough. I'll never understand how you mamas get up and put on makeup every day and get yourselves fully ready. I gave up makeup right after he was born, and I keep my hair in a pixie because Lord knows I just cannot find the time, strength, or energy to fool with it anymore.
Sometimes as a special needs mom, I feel so alone. Others don't understand the half of what I go through. Then you have times where your child is bad or does something that is considered an unwanted/unacceptable behavior and they cannot figure out why you won't "just handle it". I can't "just handle it" any old way. It has to be handled delicately to avoid a meltdown and it also has to be handled in a manner that he understands and that is not always feasible because he doesn't quite understand things the way an average 5-year-old does. We're still on like a 2–3-year-old level when it comes to social communication.
So I am putting together a list of items we are going to need for the beach! Here is what I have so far:
We have never taken Booga to the beach. It is just something we haven't had the means of doing. We are now planning a vacation to go to the beach with him thank to a special person in our lives. We cannot wait! Our little water baby is going to have a blast!
